Lillian & Bobby | A Wedding at The Sycamore at Mallow Run

One of my absolute favorite things as an Indiana wedding photographer is getting to celebrate the same families more than once — and when Lillian reached out, I was over the moon. Lillian is the sister of our previous bride Ivy, and getting to show up for this family again felt like such a gift. There is something so special about already knowing the people who love the couple most, and walking into a wedding day with that kind of familiarity and history is something I don’t take for granted. The beautiful Sycamore at Mallow Run was the perfect backdrop for a day that felt every bit as meaningful as it was beautiful.

Before the ceremony, Lillian and Bobby shared a first look that was one for the books. When Bobby turned and saw his bride for the first time, the emotion on his face said everything that words couldn’t. What I loved most was how that time together wasn’t just a photo opportunity — it was a chance for them to breathe, reconnect, and steady each other before walking into one of the biggest moments of their lives. By the time they made their way to the ceremony, there was a peace and a joy between them that was beautiful to witness.

The ceremony itself was intimate and deeply personal, and I loved that their officiant — who also serves as one of their pastors — took the time to share Lillian and Bobby’s love story with those gathered. For guests who may not have known how their journey began, it was such a meaningful gift to hear it told with such care and context.

And then came the toasts. If you ever want to know who someone truly is, just listen to the people who love them speak. Lillian’s sisters described her as an absolute ray of sunshine — someone whose warmth and brightness genuinely lights up every room and every life she enters. And Bobby? He was celebrated as one of the most loyal and steadfast friends anyone could ask for. We hear a lot of wedding toasts every year, but these were special.

Lillian and Bobby, thank you for inviting us into your day and for trusting us to tell your story. What a sweet day it was!
