One of my favorite things is getting to document the weddings of multiple siblings – we get to enjoy the same families that we have loved connecting with, we know the flow of the family formal portraits and we get to celebrate with friends.  This past weekend at the Last Refuge in Louisville, KY, we had the honor of capturing Evan and Hannah’s wedding.  Evan’s brother Ethan married Claire back in 2020 and we’ve known them and their families for many years now. Returning to document another milestone in this family’s story was a true privilege. It was made extra special for us because one of our son’s best buddies Henry was the ring bearer! 

With experience in the catering and events world, Hannah and Evan brought a level of intentionality and taste that set the tone for the entire day. Every detail—from the exquisite florals to the breathtaking venue—reflected their shared vision. Nothing felt random; it all felt them. 

Evan and Hannah’s First Look really underscored what we tell couples all the time – do a first look, not just for the photos, but so that you can spend the day together. You could see the nerves dissolve the second they laid eyes on each other—a quiet, emotional pause before the celebration began. That moment set the tone for the rest of the day and allowed these two best friends to walk into their lovely ceremony both relaxed and excited. 

After a delicious meal (no surprise there, coming from two people who know hospitality so well), the dance floor at The Last Refuge came alive. Surrounded by friends and family, Hannah and Evan celebrated with full hearts and full energy.
